Faeries have been identified variously as elemental nature spirits, spirits of the dead, or an ancient race of humans. They live in the Otherworld but cross over into this one, and we can cross into theirs. Fae or fey means psychic, intuitive, picking up on information from other planes. Pagans, Christians, and people of many cultures have a belief in faeries.
The artwork includes the work of 14 artists who believe in the faerie realm, and have experience and association with faeries. It features painting, installation, mixed media, jewelry, sculpture, and photography that:
creates a portal to the experience of the world of faerie.
shows faeries’ connection to the elements and the natural world.
helps people form connections with, and better understand, the inhabitants of the faerie realm.
elicits an emotional response and/or contemplation about faeries and their world.
