 Connect with your spirit guides! Everyone has helpers in the Otherworld: angels, ancestors, power animals, gods, goddesses, faeries, elves. This class will show you how to communicate with them through shamanic meditation and receiving messages from viewing images (visual art). You will be able to receive the advice and healing you need, now and in the future.
We will experience receiving messages from guides through:

  • Shamanic Journey meditation
  • Writing down messages you are receiving from artwork you view

No experience necessary, we welcome beginners! If you have done shamanic journeying previously, this is an opportunity to take time to consult your guides.

In a safe and sacred space, we will call in the spirit guides of each participant, and of the spirit guides of the Healing Arts Intensive “Dreaming In Between”. Each participant will have a chance to set an intention for healing or transformation they need.
 

You will have time to receive messages about your intention through gazing at one of the artworks in the current exhibit Conscious Body, Living Soul at Life Force.

Joan will explain the process of the ancient shamanic journey meditation: traveling to the spirit realm to gain wisdom and healing from angels, ancestors, totem animals and other helpful spiritual beings.

Then Joan will lead the journey with verbal cues to the traditional shamanic drum beat. Participants will have time to draw or write to record their journey, share their experiences and ask questions before we close the Circle.

Please wear comfortable clothing to sit or lie down while journeying. You may want to bring a scarf or towel to cover your eyes during the meditation. and  a notebook and pen to record your impressions after your journey.

Joan Forest Mage

Joan Forest Mage, the founder and director of Life Force Arts Foundation and Shamanic Training Program, is honored to serve as a shamanic healer, educator and performing artist in her hometown of Chicago (and throughout the world via zoom). She has a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Professional Studies from De Paul University’s School for New Learning, with the focus area “Creating Healing Ritual Through the Arts: A Contemporary Paradigm.” A Certified Movement Analyst, she has studied shamanism, energy work and healing ritual with numerous teachers, and has worked as a Shamanic Practitioner since 1995, performing over 1000 soul retrieval healings. Joan has over thirty years of professional performing and teaching experience as a dancer, singer and theater performer, and two music CDs to her credit. She has taught workshops and training programs in the arts and body movement since 1985, and in shamanism since 1996.
