In today’s chaotic world, many of us feel a sense of confusion, loneliness and isolation. We experience separation from both the human community and the natural world that we are part of, feeling ungrounded and rootless.
 
In this Healing Arts Intensive, we will experience a shamanic solution to this dilemma: connecting to our wise and loving Ancestors who understand Nature Spirits, and the healing power of oneness with the natural world.
 
Ancestors are people who lived in physical form but have now passed on. They are part of your soul family extending through time and space. The Ancestors we are seeking are ones that have great love and wisdom to help us heal ourselves, others and the more-than-human world we live in. The Ancestors you meet may be of your biological lineage, or spiritual ancestors; they may be people you have met in physical form, or people from many generations in the past.
 
Through shamanic practice rooted in the arts, each participant will meet at least one Ancestor who has been waiting to work with them as their spirit guide.

Schedule for Healing Arts Intensive “Wise & Loving Ancestors & Nature Spirits”

All dates are Tuesdays from 7 – 9 PM. Attend in person or via Zoom

  • September 2 – Orientation with Joan Forest Mage  – Introduction to the ways we will be working with observing and creating visual art, writing, music, dance and theater to catalyze our personal transformation. Creation of each participant’s Intention (Transformational Goal). Shamanic journey to meet the spirit guides of this Intensive.
  • September 9 –  Art as Oracle with Joan Forest Mage –  This class will show you how to communicate with the spirit realm through receiving messages from viewing images (visual art). You will be able to receive the advice and healing you need, now and in the future, through writing down messages you are receiving from artwork you view.
  • September 16 – Lolo’s Mystic Visions Poetry Salon: Love Notes To & From the Ancestors – Gather with fellow lovers of literary art as we express our souls through creative writing. We summon our wise and loving Ancestors of Heritage and the Nature Spirits of Place to help with our Transformational Goals. 
  • September 23 – Preparation for next week’s Shamanic Healing Performance. Deepening understanding of the performance’s dramaturgy. Collaborating on Art Meditation text and suggesting cover songs; shamanic journey to receive healing for Transformational Goal.
  • September 30 – LFAE Shamanic Healing Performance Wise & Loving Ancestors & Nature Spirits  – Life Force Arts Ensemble (LFAE), the professional performing company of Life Force, presents a Shamanic Healing Performance specially created for this Intensive in collaboration with the HAI participants. Channeling dance, poetry and vocal and instrumental Sound Healing music from the spirit realm, LFAE connects you to your wise ancestors who loved and respected nature. 
  • October 7 – Closure – Creating your own visual art and divination techniques help you complete your Transformational Goal and bring Closure to the Group. Reflect on and share the outcome of your experience and Transformation.

Intensive participants DO NOT perform in the LFAE performance, but they DO

  • find their personal helping spirits who the LFAE performers invoke to guide the performance
  • create writing and poetry based on their Transformational Goals, which the LFAE performers may recite or sing during the performance
  • learn the deeper meaning of the Featured Artwork from the LFAE art exhibit

NOTE: This is a 6 session process, so please check your calendar to make sure you can come to all six sessions. You can attend the Intensive in-person or via zoom.

Tuition Credit Policy for Healing Arts Intensives

There are no refunds for Healing Arts Intensives, but tuition credit for future Intensives may be issued as follows:
If you have paid for a Healing Arts Intensive, but you do not attend ANY of the sessions, you are given a tuition credit for the full amount of the Intensive which can be applied to any event at Life Force. This tuition credit must be used within one year from the date of the initial Intensive Orientation.

If you attend ONLY THE ORIENTATION session of the Intensive but none of the other sessions, you are given a tuition credit of half of the admission price you paid for the Intensive. This tuition credit can be applied to any event at Life Force. This tuition credit must be used within one year from the date of the initial Intensive Orientation.

If you attend two or more sessions of the Intensive, you do not receive a tuition credit, but the classes are recorded on zoom, and you receive access to the recordings.
