Please join us for our monthly Shamanic Journey Circle!
This event is led by Shamanic Practitioner Joan Forest Mage (Eagleheart) in company with students and graduates of her Shamanic Training Program and Shamanic performing company.
In a safe and sacred space, we will call in the spirit guides and Archetypes associated with the Wisdom Wheel.
Joan will explain the process of the ancient shamanic journey meditation: traveling to the spirit realm to gain wisdom and healing from angels, ancestors, totem animals and other helpful spiritual beings.
Then we all drum and rattle together in the classic shamanic drum beat to travel to the inner planes. Joan, Shamanic Training Program students and members of her Ritual Theater company will continue drumming and singing as the group completes their journey. Participants will have time to share their experiences and ask questions before we close the Circle.
This Circle is open to everyone, no previous experience needed. If you have done shamanic journeying previously, this is your chance to practice! We welcome people who are interested in learning Shamanic Journeying. Connect to your own spirit guides in a community of like-minded spiritual seekers.
Feel free to bring a drum or rattle; you can make a DIY rattle with a plastic bottle filled with popcorn or rice. We will also have a few rattles available to use.
Please wear comfortable clothing to sit or lie down while journeying. You may want to bring a scarf or towel to cover your eyes during the meditation. and a notebook and pen to record your impressions after your journey.

Joan Forest Mage
Joan Forest Mage, the founder and director of Life Force Arts Foundation and Shamanic Training Program, is honored to serve as a shamanic healer, educator and performing artist in her hometown of Chicago (and throughout the world via zoom). She has a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Professional Studies from De Paul University’s School for New Learning, with the focus area “Creating Healing Ritual Through the Arts: A Contemporary Paradigm.” A Certified Movement Analyst, she has studied shamanism, energy work and healing ritual with numerous teachers, and has worked as a Shamanic Practitioner since 1995, performing over 1000 soul retrieval healings. Joan has over thirty years of professional performing and teaching experience as a dancer, singer and theater performer, and two music CDs to her credit. She has taught workshops and training programs in the arts and body movement since 1985, and in shamanism since 1996.
