The SELKIE EXPERIENCE is a three-part soul experience and artmaking session brought to you by multi-disciplinary international artist healer, Natalja Aicardi.
This workshop can also be attended as part of the Healing Arts Intensive “Selkie” which starts on June 28.
Part 1 will begin with Natalja’s one woman show, “The Selkie.” Using movement, sound, and photography, Natalja embodies the spirit of the Selkie legend from the Norse and Celtic mythology in a performance that functions as a catalyst for your own healing and transformation. She tells the archetypal story of a seal-turned-woman who gets her skin taken away under the false promise of love and happiness. As the years go by, she realizes she’s been tricked into giving up not only her skin but her freedom and sense of self as well. She must then embark on a transformative journey to disentangle herself from a toxic relationship, learn about self-love and reclaim what she’s made of. Through the performance you are offered a magical mirror that only myths and fairytales can give. Whatever the story will trigger in you is something your soul is calling on you to work through to get closer to your true self.
In part 2, at the end of the performance, you will be guided through a series of simple voice and movement activities to build this momentum and further connect to your own Soul and intuition through your body. These exercises are approachable for everyone, whether you are an experienced mover/singer or someone not comfortable using their body or voice. The exercises are powerful tools to help you make energetic shifts that awaken your heart, induce a meditative state and release your creative flow.
In part 3 of the workshop, Natalja will lead you into a shamanic journey to receive your “pearl”- a message, a soul part or gift waiting for you in the depths of your watery subconscious. There will be time to share experiences in the circle before closing the session.
