What We Do
Ensemble members are the visual, literary and performing artists who collaborate to create the concepts for LFAE’s exhibits, performances and Healing Arts Intensives. These talented teaching-healing artists work on Creative Teams to produce the artwork, text, music and dance for each of the performances held during the run of our exhibits. Ensemble members are also the facilitators for the Intensives and Arts Classes.
Life Force Arts Shamanic Training (LFAST) provides comprehensive instruction in a contemporary form of shamanism, an ancient form of spiritual practice and healing through connecting to one’s spirit guides. It is based in the Life Force Arts Method. The program provides training from the basics of shamanism to establishing a firm personal shamanic practice, and progressing to doing shamanic healing and teaching for others.
The Life Force Arts Method (LFAM) is a spiritual, transformational and educational process through the arts that anyone can benefit from. It is a modern version of universal wisdom teachings that values true self and creative community. It was discovered by LFAE Founder and Director Joan Forest Mage beginning in 1985 through her work in the performing arts. It’s the basis of all of Life Force Arts Ensemble’s work
What We’re Passionate About
We’re passionate about connecting people, art, healing and spirit. We believe that nurturing the unique gifts of each individual creates healthy, functional communities, and that the arts are 100,000 years of the technology of human consciousness that allows us to achieve this human wholeness. The arts are crucial to teaching people to perceive, express, communicate and live peacefully together. The arts are accumulated wisdom of our fellow humans reaching out to help us with any dilemma we might be facing.
LFAE’s work is not based on a particular ethnic culture or religious belief. Rather, it is a contemporary combination of both psychological and spiritual practice through a non-denominational approach to greater wholeness. By spiritual, we mean the non-material, including the human spirit, universal energy and mystical experience. We focus on the direct experience of the intuitive/spiritual realm. LFAE seeks to connect people to the spiritual side of life in a way that individuals of various beliefs and life experiences can embrace in their own way, discovering their own truth.
Explore the Healing Arts Intensive
A Healing Arts Intensive (HAI) is a group therapeutic process through the arts designed as a life-changing experience of transformation and healing in community. Healing Arts Intensives are based in the Life Force Arts Method (LFAM), a powerful psychological and spiritual tool for understanding life from our most inner world to our most outer world. Participants focus on a personal Transformational Goal which they manifest through observing and creating visual art, writing, dance, theater and music. Each Intensive is built around a performance of Life Force Arts Ensemble which Intensive participants attend. The Ensemble creates an energy healing performance based in archetypal stories with sound healing, dance, vocal and instrumental music, and shamanic journey meditation in the sacred space created by our art exhibits.
